TWIST
OF LIME
So far, I just love this color. I don't
believe I have anything like it in my entire supply of frit. It is the most
beautiful bright lime green with little specks of a much lighter green. |

LIME SPIDER |

 |
|
This is my official first set as a
frit tester for GD and I am just wild about
it. These cobalt beads are adorned with lots of tart lime spiders!
I just love how the specially blended frit reacted with the cobalt-- it
blends in a bit creating a variety of shades of blue, but yet is very
bold and stands out strong! THE TELL: To get the green to really stand out strong, I did need to
roll the bead twice. In a few of the beads, you can tell where I
did not get a real good covering of frit and then when I add the
stringer, that seemed to blend in more. The striped ones are made
from frit stringer. Today, I hope to try this on a variety of colors so come back a bit to
see what else I come up with. |

IVY

This set is a continuation of the bead above. They start with a
transparent green glass with a bit of olive green added and then are
rolled in the twist of lime frit. While in the kiln, the green
frit seems to come to life. Before they looked somewhat drab,
but once they had annealed, the green really pops. |
|
Here are some samples I made up to see how this
lime frit reacted with different colors.
 |
|
|
1. effetre dark pink round bead lightly rolled in
frit and dotted with new violet then smashed to pillow shape
2. effetre light turquoise bead rolled in lime twist frit,
smashed and then decorated with edp.
3. bullseye pink rolled in lime frit, smashed and decorated with
dark purple stringer.
4. effetre light grass green bead striped with lauscha olive green,
melted flat, rolled in lime frit then added flowers and then
smashed. (side note: I attempted to repeat this one for
a set, but couldn't seem to get the green as bright as it is here.
They are still in the kiln, so we shall see.) |
